The financial plan you have developed using the Asset Allocation feature is an important step towards meeting your financial goals. As important as developing and implementing your asset allocation plan, however, is understanding that your plan is based on certain assumptions or risk tolerance factors you have selected, such as desired holding periods for certain securities or desired return on investments. As with any financial plan, regular monitoring of your plan will be important to determine if adjustments are needed. Also, like any research work or formula used in financial planning, certain factors must be simplified or approximated to make the process manageable. For example, the Asset Allocation feature estimates a proportion of asset classes based on different factors, including the time period you select before you start drawing on an investment and historical rates of return for different securities, which is a common but not always precise method of approximation.
